San Diego Vacation

Mia's first vacation was an undisputed success.  The weather was perfect, the hotels were awesome, the crib's comfortable enough to sleep through the night all week long, the stroller was a perfect substitution for her much loved napping swing at home, and the flights were pretty much unstressful. The Flickr photo set San Diego has most of the pictures from our vacation, but here are a few teasers ...

Daddy has wanted one of these for many years.  But having missed several
Park stamps already, perhaps Mia can collect hers as she discovers America!
Ready for real food, Mia spies a cucumber!
Ooooh, looky! Birds at the San Diego Safari Park.
Way cool!
Mia's first baseball game was exhausting.
Weeeeee!  Fun in the hotel room.

Mia's First Airplane Trip

Mia made her very first (and second) airplane trip today. Mommy has some work to do in San Diego, so Daddy and Baby are following her west. The first leg of the trip was fantastic, she was an angel all the way to Phoenix, three plus hours. After a brief layover, it was a fussy takeoff, understandably so as she was overtired (some three hours past her bedtime). Once the plane was in the air however, she fell fast asleep. Once we landed in San Diego, and after getting our luggage, climbing into a cab that took us to the wrong Best Western, getting another cab to take us to the correct hotel, and finally checking in, she fell asleep rather quickly in her hotel provided crib. The family is exhausted, but ready for adventure. Tomorrow.

Sleeping Through the Night

She did it! Again. Mia was sleeping about 8 hours a night for about six weeks, until about a month ago. Since then, she woke up at least once a night, usually around 2am. But out of nowhere, last night Mommy wrapped Mia in her swaddle and placed her in the crib at 8:15, and now I'm blogging about this well rested with my left thumb on my iPhone while she takes her breakfast bottle at 7:08. What a good girl!
