Catching Up

I have quite a bit of catching up to do, I know.  Since I last wrote from San Diego, Mia traveled to Pennsylvania for a great week visiting family.  As is customary around Jackie's birthday, we always bail on Indianapolis over the race weekend, Memorial Day.  Of course, we didn't escape the heat, which was good in a way because Mia got her first chance to go swimming ...

Mia has really grown to love the water, as you can see above (yes, we went to Walmart and bought one of our own for these hot summer days).  Her baths have become more fun now that they're in the tub rather than the kitchen sink, she dipped her toes in the Pacific Ocean while in San Diego, and will dip them in the Atlantic Ocean and Kezar Pond when we visit Maine in July.  And as you can see below, she even likes to eat at the beach, Presque Isle, Erie PA ... OH, did I forget to mention she's eating now ...

She's eating now!  We started with rice cereal (yuck) and oatmeal (yum).  Then yellow squash (so-so), carrots (yum), bananas (yum) and now sweet potatoes (so-so).  Next up will probably be applesauce.  I have really enjoyed making her food with my Baby Bullet.  It's nice to control her food, and by buying organics, hopefully she can avoid all the preservatives, additives and pesticides for awhile.
